Seattle Sutton’s 84 Years Old and Still Going Strong!
Yesterday I celebrated my 84th birthday and I couldn’t be happier to share why I’m still going strong. I love helping people. It’s plain and simple. It excites me and energizes me.
I recently received the kindest card from a former client, who has since become a friend. She lost a considerable amount of weight, more than half her body weight, but also changed her life entirely. I am so proud of her, just as if she’s one of my own children. Her card in part read:
“Sometimes an amazing person comes into your life at just the right time and makes such a positive difference, you can’t imagine your world without her. You only know how grateful you are that she came along.”
People ask often, “Why do you still work, when you could obviously be retired by now?” And, my response is always, “I don’t feel like I work. I love what I do and I love helping people. To make it even sweeter, I work with my family and get to talk to them every day.” As you know, most people do not have that privilege!
Why wouldn’t I still be working at 84 is the real question? I am capable and able, plus I have many so-called “fringe benefits” for doing so. But, not the traditional kind – no, mine are the ‘soft benefits’ that enhance my life and the lives of others.
That’s why I work and why I do what I do at 84 years young!
